I live in California.

I submitted expense reports for various things at work last year. Some are my and other employees expenses on product installation jobs that I paid for on my credit card and supplies for the company. I submitted written requests with receipts and all while the company was still in business but never got reimbursed. The company went out of business...didn't even have enough money to file for bankruptcy. The amount is about $12,000. Can I deduct this as a bad debt/loan or something like that?

Thanks!
