wants to go legitWhat is the name of your state? FL I havent't paid taxes in the last several years. I have been classified as an independant contracter for a portion of these years and just simply did not have the money at the end of the year to pay. I would like to go legit, but currently my employer has me classified as an independant contracter. I have done enough research to know that this is incorrect, but I'm not sure what to do about it. Any thoughts? What is the name of your state? |

Then...you have to decide whether you want to continue working for that employer or not. If you do, then you need to start paying estimated taxes. You can certainly report the employer, but it could take a very long time for the IRS to investigate, and there is no guarantee that the employer will start treating you like an employee. It would probably be better to get another job. |

goin' to the 'big house'?Can I be arrested for tax evasion by trying to square? I have no paper work. Last several years were a blurr and I pretty much lived on the road. Have a two year old I'm paying child support on. How do I begin to file? I like the job I'm at and am trying to pull paperwork together to buy it from retiring owner. I'm trying to pull my life together for my little girl, but truly have no idea how to start. Thanks for your time and shared thoughts. |

easy payment plan? How far back will they charge me? My current employer has maybe two out of three years worth of 1099s. I took off for a year between this year and my first year with him. I've lost contact with my other employers. Like I said, I lived on the road. How do they decide what I owe them and more importantly I suppose, what kind of terms do they generally offer? I'm sorry if this is seeming drawn out, but the more I find out, the more questions I seem to have. Thanks for your imput. |
