Where can I file last year's (2008's) taxes online for cheap?

Hi, I did not file my taxes last year because I thought I made too little, $7000, to file, so I need to file them this year. Where can I do it for cheap online? I've seen sites that say $40 and thats pretty steep when you usually do it for free.

Who usually does it for free? Most sites that offer Federal for free charge for the state taxes or other services. You can always put pen to paper (you can download the forms from the IRS site) and mail them in. No charge.

I don't think the IRS accepts ANY electronic filings for the 2008 tax year after October 15, 2009--free source or no.

You need to file in paper for a prior year return.
