What is the name of your state? Maine

I only paid about $1500.00 in child care expenses last year. Can I still write that off? My total income is about $20000.

You can claim a child care credit. File form 2441 with a 1040 or schedule 2 with a 1040A. If you had child care expenses last year, you may want to look at amending older returns. At $20,000 AGI, the credit is worth about $480.
