Are discussion with a unions lawyer confidential and protected under attorney-client?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

I dont understand your query?

I have a question of legal import that I would like to discuss with my union attorney [possible whistle blower protection I am seeking].

I want to know whether their is any confidentiality between myself and the union attorney b4 I discuss anything....

or ...

would I be better off getting a private attorney.

THAT,..is my question.

the attorney/client privilege is limited to the attorney and their client. Are you their client in this situation or is the union the client?

I'm not saying it is either way because I do not know your relationship with the attorney in this situation but I would suggest caution in this as you may have no such privilege.
