HolidayNew Jersey My union will began negotiations soon; however administration accidentally emailed their proposal to the members on the negotiation team prior to our meeting. At my job we have to unions’ supervisors and non-supervisors. My question is: Can holidays be negotiated with only one union? However the other union will not begin negotiations until June 2010. Should this matter be negotiated with both unions at the same time? (I understand that this means my unions’ contract would be on hold until June 2010) |

| Yes, they can negotiate separately. Yes, the holiday schedule, etc., can be different between the two unions.

| The company I work for deals with 4 separate unions. Each union has a holiday or two that the other do not have. Each union negotiates each contract separately. It happens in many companies.
