Late 1 minute and facing 2 weeks off no pay

What is the name of your state? Ohio

In the last 5 years I can count the times I was late on one hand. In March my wife asked for a divorce and it caused me alot of trouble. Because of that I began getting to work later and later and was late in June for a few minutes. The gave me a verbal. About a 6 weeks ago I was late about 2 minutes and got a week off. They before and after that "ignored"others being late. I took the week off without complaint and fixed the problem. Ive been getting to work since around 15 minutes early EVERY day, even beating the boss to work. Today due to the weather I was ONE minute late and now I could get 2 weeks off.

I have a problem with this because:
1) 2 people were late 15 minutes each due to ice and snow and they were given "notice" but HR dropped it and they werent given any time. One lived 10 minutes away from work and I live 30 minutes away. This was a few weeks ago.
2) These 2 people were given a week of several months ago but the company pushed their time off a few weeks away allowing them to have ot.
3) My time off was given to me that day.
4) These same 2 people left early sick with no vacation time and nothing was said.
5)Another person missed 2days of work with no vacation time left and nothing was said.
6) one of these people knows the hr rep and said hes a "family friend".

Im not complaining that these people got away with this stuff. Just that it seems unfair that I can get 2weeks off when other people have not had even a word said to them.

Can they do this?

What did your union representative say when you asked him/her?

As of today

Our rep said that since nothing was said as of today not to worry about . But he also said once they claim they can go back as far as they want to and punish people. Since it was a bad weather day and others were let off Im assuming they are dropping it. But you never know.

I guess Il have to wait and see

Im on notice

I was told today Im on notice which means they are probably giving me 2 weeks off. They are going to tell me tomorrow. Our rep said they will probably start it tomorrow and Ill lose my Christmas pay(they entire week) and the following week. Hes going to grieve it but if I win Im still out 2 weeks pay and it could take as long as 7 months to get paid(thats the longest its taken others). I cant afford this.Im getting divorced and I need to find a place to live.

It doesnt make sense.
