Non compete agreement

What is the name of your state? NJ

I am a consultant of company A. I am working in one project in company C through company B. Company C is client of company B (indirect client of company A). Company C offers me the job. However i have signed the agreement stating that obtaning emloyement with a client with which the company has a contactual or proprietary relationship, the employee agress to compensate the company the amount of equivalent to 30% of the employee's gross salart.
All three companies are in New jersey.
Do i have to give them 30% of my salary if i wish to join company C?
