Is it legal for my union to chanrge union dues on a sliding scale
ie. make more money, pay more dues, considering all members get the same representation from the union in negotiations and representation??? |

| | I thought a progressive tax system was indicitive of a non-conservative type of organization which is what I would expect from a labor union....

Yes, it's perfectly legal.

| | | It is normal to charge a set percentage of your income, such as two cents on a dollar.
Look at it the other way, the more you make the more money they get to represent you. It gives them more strength, and more encouragement to get you pay raises.
Would it be fair if someone getting ten dollars an hour pays the same as someone getting thirty dollars an hour?
It is a Union, an organization voted in-by the members- to represent you and all the members. | |
