When to get an attorney?

WA state
I think I'm in big trouble. Boss has been gunning for me. I'm suspended right now.
Probly will get a call next week to go in. Might be the last time. Union will be there but who knows how that'll work out.

Should I get an attorney right now? Should the attorney be present at the meeting? Do I have to wait for the union to handle or mis-handle it?

Talk to your union steward and business rep. Your employer does not have to allow a lawyer to be present during the meeting.

Well, that's a good question.

He didn't tell me.
He came into the break room, told me to come into the office. I got up, then he said, "You know what, get your street clothes on, then come into the office." That means you're being sent home. I got my street clothes on, then said I thought I should have a union rep.

I don't know what I should be splashing all over the internet.

Suffice to say, it got bad. I was shaking, he was threatening me, he said over and over "Get in the office" or "No, get in the office" or "No, get in the office right now", etc.
He tried to make me take a co-worker instead of a union rep.
He finally said if I didn't get in there in five minutes there would be Serious Disciplinary Action. I went in with a co-worker.

He said something like, You're suspended. I told you three times to come in here and you didn't. You're suspended. Don't come back til I call you.

I still don't know what the original problem was.
