9th and 10th amendments.


What is the name of your state? CT

Amendment IX

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.


What is the court's current interpretation of these amendments?

Does the 10th amendment mean that states have the right to make any law they choose as long as it doesn't violate the bill of rights?

Does the 9th amendment mean that the constitution can't infringe on any of the people's rights?

this is just about the 9th and 10th amendments now come on! you better than to make assumptions mr. law guy

"The constitution and its amendments (bill of rights, etc) outline what the federal government has the authority to do. Anything we left out is someboday else's issue"

Wikipedia has excellent descriptions of the amendments with recent Supreme Court decisions.
