What is the name of your state? kentucky

A small newspaper in a small town is performing an "investigation" on a public office where my wife worked for several years. She has not worked in the public office for three years to date. The newspaper has ran a story for about the past year on the offices and has been known to lead the publics opinion to believe the employees has wrongly ran the office, and taken advantage of the system. We have currently discovered that the newspaper has requested my wifes job history to obviously use for their story. Does she have any rights that may protect her from being the "newest story"?

is there anything she can do if the journalistic investigation misleads the public and implies there was "wrongdoing" in her role as employee?
