suing for what? Because, if you are suing over civil rights or based on federal law, its different than diversity suits where state law claims are brought between citizens of different states.

Let me give you another piece of advice: GO SEE A LAWYER. Forum selection (state v. federal court) is a strategic move that a lawyer should be mulling over based on the facts and circumstances of your case, appropriate verdict research, and the realities of just knowing the local state and federal judges.

It has to involve a federal issue or have diversity of parties plus a claim for above a certain dollar amount. (Which is set by Congress)
