| Tape recording a committee meeting I live in Kentucky.
Is it permissible for a meeting to be tape recorded "secretly"? Here's the situation: I presented some information to a committee. Later someone complained to my supervisor that I made a statement using specific words, and that if they needed proof to "listen to the tape".
I had no knowledge of the supposed taping; it is not common practice in the committee (I had attended other meetings); and I did not notice a tape recorder in the room. Was it legal for them to tape me without my knowledge? I believe Kentucky is a one-party state meaning that only one party to a conversation needs to know it is being taped, and there was at least one person in the room who knew.
Thanks. What is the name of your state? |
