Violation of Establishment clause?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CT

Just wondering. Quite a few towns in this area use police to direct traffic for church services. Generally the town pays for it, not the church.

Couldn't this be construed as a violation of the establishment clause? Does anyone know if there has ever been a challenge?

Stuck in traffic one day and began wondering about this.

Q: Couldn't this be construed as a violation of the establishment clause?

A: Not even close. The constitution does not care how the traffic started.

"ongress shall make no laws respecting an establishment of religion, or the free practice thereof.
This was to prevent the Federal Congress from infringing upon Liberty by legislating what you should or should not believe. Without Freedom of Conscious, there is no Liberty.

Police often are given the responsibility of directing traffic before and after events. If this were a Krispy Kreme that attracted the same number of cars each sunday morning, officers would likely be assigned without bias.

But Krispy Kreme would likely have to pay.
