What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

We just received an email stating that beginning today, if we miss a punch in or out we will be charged a $10 Admin. Fee for each time. The owner is the one who simply signs our cards when this happens as it is not calculated by a computer but by us manually. This is in a gymnastics facility where our schedules are different all the time; teach one class for an hour, break for 15min., teach for 2hours, etc.. Many times we get stopped by a parent, have to jump in another class for an emergency, or other situations that we are supposed to be punched out for, and miss doing so. We also run on 2 paychecks a month, so working sometimes 7 days this happens at least once a paycheck. Is this legal?

Here is the law regarding pay deductions in Michigan:

In addition, do you make minimum wage or close to it? Federal law requires that MW and overtime pay be received "free and clear". That includes prohibiting payment out of your pocket if it would cut into MW or overtime pay.
