The company I work for is a large international corp based in California.
I am located in Colorado.
After the fiscal year ended the company stated that they were capping commissions at 100% of quota.
After achieving 100% of quota, per their contract, employees are supposed to earn escalated commission rates. Within the contract there is some terminology indicating that the company can change plans after period ends. This seems to me to be an unlawful forfeiture of wages as well as pretty classless.
It seems to be an unfair one-sided contract if the company at their discretion can change how much they want to pay after the results have already been determined. Is this legal? What is the name of your state?
