Collecting unemployment but still working

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?Maine

I have been asked by my employer to collect unemployment benefits and continue to work without getting my salary. This seems like fraud to me, I don't know. My initial instinct is to quit, but my employer also provides my housing, so I would be unemployed and homeless in one fell swoop. Any advice on how to handle this ?

Your employer is committing fraud.

Contact the DOL. You cannot be fired for contacting the DOL.
