| | Don't Come in/Why didn't you come in? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
Dear Sir or Ma'am,
I live in California. Recently my brother was injured on the job. He wasn't able to work except for on light duty. [office work] His immediate boss had him off work for 2 weeks stating that there was no work to be done. His immediate boss had him complete and send in disability insurance/workers comp. It was returned by the state because the dr's portion was not filled out. He then called the dr he saw [where his work sent him initially] and was informed that she didn't fill out state paperwork. He called his corp. office [sm corp. under 100 ee's state wide i believe] and was told by his immediate boss's boss that he couldn't understand why my brother wasn't doing shop work. My brother explained he was told not to come in, which then enraged him and said he couldn't go see a dr for full disability insurance because he was on light-duty and should have been in the office. My brother is back to work today but we are curious if he has any monetary [or other] recourse; such as back-pay?
Thank you for your time and honesty,

| | | He should contact the CA DLSE regarding getting workers' comp benefits for the period he was off work. | |
