What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Pennsylvania

My wifes employer has told her that she would need to hand in her hours every 15th and last of the month and she would be paid the next buisness day. For the past couple of months he has been paying her "whenever he feels like it." As we are a family that lives from one paycheck to the next, is this something that any employer can do? It seems to me that it is, at the very least, a very bad buisness practice.

Employers in most if not all states, certainly in PA, are required to have a specific pay day and to adhere to it. If your wife's employer is not doing so, she can file a complaint with the DLI.
