overtime pay

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
I worked 20 hours. Had a 2 hour break. Then worked another 18 hours. Am I entitled to double time for the 18 hours?

You worked 20 hours what time to what time and the 18 hours what time to what time? Any hours after 8 is over time and any hours after 12 is double time, but it has to be on the same day.

Are you a firefighter? I believe overtime calculations for firefighters are different, even in California.

Where did the assumption about the OP being a firefighter come from?

OP, we need to know when the company-defined workweek starts (day and time). Not your work schedule.

I wasn't assuming, I was asking. The OP's name of "fireduck" and hours worked were simply clues that made me think the OP may be a firefighter with atypical overtime rules.
