| 1.) The state of Indiana has taken the position, more or less, that vacation time is due on termination unless there is a policy stating that it won't be. That's a simplification of Indiana's slightly-more-confusing-than-most-states' stance but that's pretty much what it boils down to. So if you have a company policy stating that it will be paid at termination you've got a pretty good case for payment. File a complaint with the IN DOL.
2.) In 48 out of 50 states, including Indiana, they are not required to pay mileage at all, so yes, they can deduct miles from your trip unless you have a legally binding contract or CBA that specifically says otherwise.
