| Sales commison legally owed after giving notice What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio
I am in sales based in Ohio. My company is based in CA. They pay sales commision a month after they receive payment from the customers. (ie. commision payment I would get at the end of September is from sales revenue recieved in August. Therefore, if I give 2 weeks notice at the beginning of December my last paycheck should include the commissions for everything collected in November. This happens to be alot of money and I am concerned they will not pay it since its so much and I dont have any leverage because we dont have an employement contract that specifieis this. Can they legally do that? Also, if its governed by a state law, is it CA or OH?
Note: I not being fired. I am quitting to go to another job after being with the company for 8 years. 2 weeks notice is standard.
