I work in a restaurant that for the last 14 1/2 years has paid its servers and other tipped employees nightly all gratuities paid by guests. Last Thursday mangement announced that effective the following Monday credit card tips will be held by the employer until paydady a! nd issued via payroll check. This means that employees who have been paid cash daily for the life of their employment will now be paid bi-weekly with only 72 hours notice to make the adjustment. Is this legal?
