What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MA
Can my employer legally require that I conduct company business on my free time with no pay? I am a part-time hourly employee.

Legally, you are supposed to be paid for all the hours you work. In actuality, why would you agree to work when you were not getting paid to? So they fire you? Big loss. Find another job. Report them to the Wage and Hour division for hours you have already worked without pay.

Just to be sure it's clear, legally your employer can require that you conduct company business on your own time, but it cannot be for free - he must pay you for the time.

That being said, how much time are we talking about?
