working overtime

My mom works for a company and works her 40 hrs a wk also is paid hourly, lately her work has told her she has to work overtime and it's mandatory is this legal?

Yes, it's legal to schedule mandatory overtime. She must be paid at the appropriate rate though.

from everything I could find; yes.

additionally, it does not appear that breaks or lunches are legally required either so whatever they do offer is at their discretion.

(just in case you wanted to know if the had to give her an additional break)

Ok I looked around also and found that they can make her work till near death(not quite but almost)

It's not limited to blue collar workers. Why do you think we have so many exempt employees on here complaining about the hours they have to work?
