NYS Hate to bother you with all these questions but here goes, If there are bills to be paid, tax's on house, lawyers fees, funereal bill, (2 administrators have paid that already)etc. will the courts wait until the house is sold????There is some monies from rent paid by tenants and a couple of my brothers bank books, but was wondering if we can wait and put the house up for sale and get the money from there. Is there a time limit???? The monies we have now, I would like to hold onto in case of repairs to house etc, it's not that much, will courts understand usually? Thank, You so so much!

Administrator's duties to pay debts

As administrator, you have a duty to handle the estate in a business like manner. If it would be a good business decision to save the money in the estate in case of repairs for the house, then that would be a valid use of your powers as administrator. If that is the case, you could wait and put the house up for sale. There is no specific time limit for doing these things. However, you must do them in a reasonable length of time under the circumstances.
