Advise on Will

Hiya.
My dad is currently suffering from a terminal desease.

He has not made a will but he will be making on this week.

His wife is also currently in a care home due to having dementia.

Is there a way to make dads will so it will not get passed onto his wife?

Also the house he owns outright would normally be sold by the social services to pay for his wifes care.

Is it right that if his son lives there and pays council tax there is nothing they can do?

The reason to ask the first question is that mums illness prevents her from understanding the will, so he would like it not to be passed to her once he dies if you get me?

Hope someone can help,

Kindest regards,

Andy Ferriby
