The only asset I own that is not immediately transferrable to my heirs upon my death, is my condominium in Florida. If it's true that the only way ownership can be transferred to my children upon my death, is through probate court, I hesitate because of costliness.
Is it wise to put the condo NOW into joint ownership with my children? What is the downside to this idea? What about possible future lawsuits against my heirs?
