I have just learned that the back taxes on property that my husband had been taking care of has not been paid. The lady that owned the property is now deceased and there was no will. The only existing relative is not interested in the property at all. I live in the state of Texas. My question is, "if I pay the back taxes can I take possession of the property? and what would I need to get to make it legal?
