My mother just passed away last month. And now, we received several bills (from hospitals, medical equipment, etc...) with her nane on them. The amount of money that my mother left us was not enough to cover for the funeral fee. Nothing is left in her estate. What should we do with these bills? How can we let the creditors know that there is no money left and my father is not able to pay them? Can they go after my father to make him pay. My parents have a joint checking account. Can we take her name out of the accounts? Thanks.
