What is the name of your state? RI My mother and father divorced when i was 4 and my sister 5. We had a relationship with our dad till i was about 8 and my sister 9 years old. He then remarried and had another child. He stopped picking us up, and never tried to contact us. We had not seen him for about 22 years untill my sister and i had children and got a hold of a family member on his side to let him know we wanted him to know he had grandchildren. My sister and I were willing to put all feelings aside so our children would know their grandfather. My sister and i as well as our husbands and children began a relationship with him after all these years and things were ok. Not the best, but after 22 years you could'nt ask for more. Recently, my father started to pull away again. We have a feeling this may be the end of the little family reunion. For some unknown reason. I know this may sound morbid, but god forbid when he passes away and his wife and other child is still living, is my sister and i entitled to any of his assets/house? I dont know if we are in the will. PROBABALLY NOT. If we are not, can we contess any assets? We feel like we deserve something. We are his children too. thank you. :

If you are in the will, ten you will get what's left for you in his will. If you are not in the will, and he has a will, then you will get nothing. If he dies without a will, then you will be entitled to an intestate share of the estate.
