What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California.

When a will has been executed without the knowledge of the only living heir, how much time does one have to contest it?

Q: When a will has been executed without the knowledge of the only living heir, how much time does one have to contest it?

A: Why do you think "the only living heir" needs to know about a will being executed?

(No one is an heir until the person giving you stuff dies.)

Do you mean "exectuted" -- that is, written -- or entered into probate after someone died?

And the chosen beneficiary of the estate assets need not be related in any way. It is perfectly legal for a party of sound mind to will their assets to a non-relation.

What do you mean by "only heir"?
