Several years ago, we had a Simple Will drawn up for us by an attorney. We purchased Family Lawyer 2000 and plan to use the Living Trust document to supercede our original Simple Will. How legal is a home computer generated Living Trust without the use of a lawyer?

Creating your own will or trust without an attorney is very legal - provided you comply with all of the laws in your state to ensure it is valid under state law! This is the problem with computer generated documents - they are generic and may not comply with all the intricacies and details of a specific state's laws. If you are going to use the generic form - may I suggest you spend some time reviewing the state's code governing wills and trusts to make sure all the basic requiremtns are met? Also - the generic forms do not necessarily mean you get all the tax advantages and other advantages you are entitled to by law - so proceed with caution!
