I live in Tennessee. My father was recently put in a nursing home and we understood that he would pay until he gets down to 2,000 in the bank and then receive medicare. They told us they would take his CD's, any bank accounts, IRA's, etc. If my mother is on half of everything, do they get her money too or does she get to keep half?
