in michigan, upon my husbands death, am i responsible for my husbands credit card and other debts if i am not on the account? he has minimal life insurance, a will which is filed with the probate court, terminally ill. when he goes his military retirement goes, disability insurance check goes with him. he buys off the computer and stuff shows up here all the time. we have had to remortgage the house to the hilt to pay for his medical bills.

how can i protect myself and what little estate that he has
so that his creditors can not take it all from me. i will have to
sell the house etc as it is, and it has no equity

If and to the extent he owned assets, they would be used to pay his debts. If and to the extent he used the credit cards to buy necessities, in some states you mght be liable.
