was told recently that my grandmothers will had to be re written when she moved from florida to kentucky because of differences in their laws pertaining to wills. would these same changes need to be made if someone moved from texas to kentucky?

Yes, again, because each state's probate law is different.

The main consideration is what state does she think she will be living in when she dies, since it is that state's probate law that will apply to her situation.
