Probate is in Nevada. The public administrators office who is currently handling the probate took more then a year before securing my fathers stocks from his broker. During that year they devalued from 75,000. to 50,000. I thought it was the public administrators job to protect assets not let them deminish. What recourse do we have against the public administrator? Thank you for any info you may have.

DEAR COMICMART:

Unfortunately, you have no recourse against a public administrator because he is protected by law from just such an action. Please reconsider your position--there is no way that the public administrator could predict or know about which way the stock market would go! Be grateful for the work he has already done for this estate and be thankful that the heirs will be receiving anything at all.

SINCERELY,
