Most states have an allowable percentage by law (within the range of 2% to 4%), but Connecticut law says a "reasonable fee". You should try to contact a Connecticut probate/estate attorney who has an e-mail address to ask your question directly to him/her, or you could visit the county courthouse to look at the probate file of any person who died in 2000 or 2001 (if the estate has closed) to look at the paperwork to see what other executors have charged.
