i live in north carolina. my fiance has bought a house in his name alone. he has an exwife and child who he pays child support for. he is not named as the father on the birth cert. if he dies will i get the house if i am named as survivor on the deed. we also have a checking account together. i want make sure that him and i have done everything neccesary for the house to stay with me. i also don't want the checking account frozen.

IF title to the house and bank account was in both your names as "joint tenants with right of survivorship" you should be okay.
