What is the name of your state?florida. I would like to use my insurance policy to pay off my daughter's home which I have a mortgage on when I die. Can I legally only put the home in her name even though she is married? Or if her and her husband split up is he still entitled to 1/2 of the home value?

Q: Can I legally only put the home in her name even though she is married?
A: Yes.

Q: Or if her and her husband split up is he still entitled to 1/2 of the home value?
A: That depends on what she and her husband do. If, for example, he pays off the mortgage, he may be entitled to some interest in the house in case of divorce.

Also, check with your tax professional before you do any of this transferring.
