In a family law case in the state of Florida, the Former Wife is co-owner of a trust with her mother, but denies it and refuses to disclose what assets are held there (millions of $$$)!!!. The name of the trust is something like "Jane Doe, et al" Are the documents creating a trust public record? Would they show who the owners/trustees are? What about power of attorney - is that in a document somewhere that I can get a copy of? Where should I look for this information? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No, trusts are private entities and their terms and composition are not normally a matter of public record. Similarly, powers of attorney are not public records. In some cases, where business is transacted by a trust or person acting under a POA, there is a trace, such as signatures on bank records, stock and brokerage firm records, deeds, etc. that show who the people acting are.
