A friend of mine's husband died a year ago and there is approx. $2,000 left in his estate.
The court says that she must put up another $675 bond to be able to have access to this money and the attorney wants $400 to prepare the paperwork to present to the judge.
How can she prepare this herself?
State of Ky.

Thanks!

In most states there is a simplifiied procedure for very handling small estates. She should ask the court clerk. If there are no other heirs at law, or the heirs will consent to waiver of the bond, that may help avoid the need for the bond.
