What is the name of your state? LA is the state that I live in. PA is the state that I am named as Executorof a will.

I am close friends with a married couple who have named me the executor of their will. They have no children together and no living family members younger than them. The man does have two grown children who live in another country.
I was just reading that being named the executor of a will is "not a gift, but a burden." I know that they do have a will so I assume it will be pretty straighforward.

Can someone please explain to me what the pros and cons are and what I should expect as the executor of their will.

Thank you!
