What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

My question is: If a spouse dies in the state of Texas without a will
does the surviving spouse inherit all the community property (the same property that would be subject to splitting in a divorce) or does the surviving spouse share the community property with adult children of the marriage?

If the deceased spouse had a will that stated only half of the community
property went to the surviving spouse and half was to be divided among the adult children could it be contested? Would the will be against the state
law?
