What is the name of your state? Connecticut

My Mom wants to know if she should get a living trust. It's just me and my sister, neither of us is married. We already have a will. For our situation isn't
that as good as a living trust? Also, an Estate planning lawyer told me
a year or two ago that in the state of Cconnecticut you always have to go through probate no matter what you have, is that true?

Thanks
