What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Hello,

My granmother has a living trust and my mom is concerned because she read that if something should happen which would cause my grandmother to need to go into long term care etc. that she would have to liquidate all her assets down to $1000 before the government would start paying the bill.

Does this same thing also apply to assets that are held in her living trust? The trust holds real estate and monetary assets also.

Let me know if there is anymore information you need to determine the answer.

Thanks a lot guys!

cardminger,
You asked, "Does this same thing also apply to assets that are held in her living trust?"

The answer is "yes", as it should be.
