I am the beneficiary of my sister’s life insurance policy. Sister has medical insurance. When she dies, will I be liable to pay the remainder of her medical bills, with the insurance policy, after her medical insurance pays out. Hospital is in New York.

A: No, not at all, BUT the hospital and any other creditors (if they hear of this) will certainly make you try to think so. Just make sure that YOU do not sign anything making you liable for any of her bills.
