My fiance's grandfather passed away 2 years ago, the last few months were spent in a nursing home, and medicare covered his health expenses, which were pretty big. His grandmother is still alive, and we are moving in with her and taking over house payments. She wants to transfer the property into our name. My question is, after she passes away, can medical take the house to cover grandfather's expenses? Would a trust prevent this, or is it better to transfer the deed into our name now. We don't indend to put her in a nursing home or qualify her for any new services.
