I presume you are an adult. You have NO rights. With 2.5 years, there's nothing you could have done to "protect" this asset likely anyhow. Any attempts to hide this asset would have resulted in you disqualifying your mother from coveragre. Thankfully, you didn't go off half-****ed on that. Putting you on the deed would have definitely been problematic.

Is your father still alive?
